American Robin
Turdus migratorius
One of the most common birds that can be spotted in both residential and wooded areas, it is easily recognizable due to the color combination of a rusty chest and dark gray upper parts. Often seen on lawns tugging on earthworms, it also eats a wide variety of insects, and during winter feasts primarily on fruits and berries. A true early bird, and one that is very vocal, it starts belting out its song in the dark even before the sun is up during the warmer months.
