Canada Goose

Branta canadensis

One of the most abundant waterfowl of North America that is easily recognizable, due to its large size, honking call, and V-flying formation. This species migrates in large flocks that often include family members. Starting in late April, goose parents leading their newly hatched goslings are a common sight along the bike path, especially on Watchemoket Cove Crossing and around Brickyard Pond.
