Eastern Kingbird
Tyrannus tyrannus Apr–Sep
This flycatcher has a dark navy gray head and wings that are slightly lighter, along with white undersides and a white tipped tail, making it a combination of contrasts. It likes to perch on top of fences, topmost bare tree branches, or on utility lines. The Kingbird's call isn't as immediately recognizable as the rest in this group, sounding like a complicated cascade of buzzing notes. Its most distinguishable sound is a repeated zeeeeet.
