Gray Catbird
Dumetella carolinensis May–Oct
Named for the squeaky nasal call that is somewhat similar to that of a cat, this bird is easy to spot during the warmer months. They are in the same family as the Mockingbird and also have the ability to mimic sounds. Often found lurking in shrubs and thickets, they can seem entirely monochrome, but a rusty red patch is located underneath the tail.
