Wood Thrush
Hylocichla mustelina May–Jul
Belonging to the same family as the American Robin, this bird has a similar silhouette and is slightly smaller in size. However, it is much harder to spot, preferring to hide deep in the woods rather than parading out in the open. It is likely that you will hear it first, producing variations that sound something like ee-oh-layee teeeee. The Wood Thrush has cinnamon brown coloring on top, with a beautiful dark spotted pattern on a white breast.
